This tournament strictly follows all 2015 ASA Playing Rules unless otherwise noted in the Firemen’s Guidelines and Rules.
ASA approved bats ONLY – See www.asasoftball.com for a list of approved equipment. No metal spikes allowed. All teams must be ASA sanctioned. If your teams needs ASA sanctioning, please check in at the tournament headquarters well in advance of your first game played.
This tournament is a hit your own ball tournament. You may buy as many softballs as you want but you must purchase at least two (2) balls for the tournament and you will be required to get your own home run balls and foul balls.
Altered equipment will not be allowed or tolerated. In the event you are caught with altered equipment you and possibly your team will be disqualified from the tournament.
Teams must present their ASA roster and sanction card prior to their first game played at the tournament.
All teams MUST check-in their pick-up players before the first game at the tournament headquarters.
Men’s Tier I Division teams are allowed one (1) player from ASA’s Restricted Players List.
Players will only be allowed to play on one (1) team per weekend, the exception being co-ed. You may play in the co-ed and a men’s or women’s team.
All protests will be handled on the field by the umpire. Eligibility protests will be handled by the tournament director. You will want to handle eligibility protests during game play even if it means sending a team representative to the tournament headquarters.
Men’s Tier I Run Rule – 20 after 4 innings, 15 after 5 innings, and 10 after 6. All other divisions are 20 after 4 innings, 10 after 5 innings.
The second strike must be hit into fair territory, there is no free foul.
Home team will be determined by a coin flip.
Pitchers are required to pitch the ball every ten (10) seconds. Please do not get in the habit of wandering around and giving infielders instructions.
Once the batter enters the batter’s box the player will NOT be granted time out for leaving the batter’s box.
The City of Bloomington will not be liable for injuries occurring at any time during the tournament.

All teams can expect to play on Friday night except the Co-Ed Division.

Parking is limited at Valley View Play Fields. Parking tickets will be issued for vehicles in no parking zones.
Bloomington Ordinance Section 5.21(9) prohibits possession, display, or consumption of alcoholic beverages within the park except for those beverages distributed by the license holder.
Limited RV parking is available to the west of Valley View #4 field. You will want to arrive early on Friday to secure those spots. Contact the tournament director on Friday if you are interested.
This is a softball tournament. Beware of flying softballs at all times!
We will be testing bats this year. If you are determined to be swinging an altered bat you will be ejected from the game, disqualified from the tournament, your at bat will be declared an out, and you will be subject to suspension by ASA.
One person may get a courtesy runner per game and may be used as many times as that batter reaches base.
